The other new Utattemita release will feature high-speed versions of J-Pop classics. Unfortunately, AKBK’s similarly themed J-Mach!! -Hi-Speed Dance Mix- is almost certain to become a source of tracks for this release. Please prove me wrong, EMI.
Dancemania Speed…lives? This July will see the continuation of the Utattemita series with two new Akiba Koubou-produced CDs. This one will feature high-speed versions of Anison themes. You may remember that AKBK have their own Speed release coming up, J-Mach!! -Hi-Speed Dance Mix-, but that release has very few anime songs so I’m hopeful that EMI will commission lots of new remixes for this.
The first two Utattamita releases from EMI weren’t branded as Dancemania releases, but I’m hoping they retroactively add them and these two new releases to the series. It’d just be nice to say there’s a new Dancemania Speed release after 5 years.
Wow, Akiba Koubou really went all-out for the Nico Nico Cho Kaigi. This special collaboration with Ita G brings together only the most overexposed AKBK songs of the past 4 years. To be fair, there’s at least one new song: a resing of “Zankoku na Tenshi no These” by D-Angels.
I can’t help but wax nostalgic over the days when Quake used to do weird tie-ups like this.
Limited-edition debut single from Akiba Koubou’s Idol project, Allover. This was available at Nico Nico Cho Kaigi, and will also be sold at Allover live events. The song isn’t quite eurobeat, but don’t be shocked to see a Eurobeat version show up on a future AKBK compilation.
Sixth wave of Utatte Mita singles from Akiba Koubou. This one features the popular odottemita trio composed of Tadanon, Okame, and Takuma. Surprisingly, it’s mostly new material, with “Tamashii no Refrain” being the only repeat/resing. The last 2 tracks are from AKBK newcomer, Beat Charger.
The single was available at Akiba Koubou’s booth at Nico Nico Cho Kaigi, a convention that was held April 28-29. Presumably it’ll also be available on tour stops during the Spring Akiba Koubou Festa.
Compilation album featuring eurobeat covers of anime themes. Produced by Kickboxer, Yuichirou Nagashima, who is also known for his cosplay. In addition to the usual AKBK repeats, the CD will include his official theme song, which was released as a single a few years ago and is sung by Halko Momoi. Yuichirou himself will be a doing a cover of “Gekitei,” and from the samples it’s clear he’s why he’s an athlete and not a professional singer. There are also two new tracks by Kei and Satsy.
I believe the CD is mixed, but full versions appear to be available on iTunes Japan with the exception of the lead track.
New eurobeat album from A-One Records and Akiba Koubou. Available at Akiba Koubou’s booth at Nico Nico Cho Kaigi, a convention being held April 28-29. Also available at A-One’s group during M3 Spring 2012. Features new songs from Elementas, DJ Command, samfree, valle blanco, Sugano, and Tsukasa. Also includes a megamix by DJ Mocchi. I think this has the first new Nagisa track in almost 5 months. o_O

Artist: Sex Machineguns
Release Date: 4/18/12
Price: 2667 yen
A new Sex Machineguns remix album produced by Akiba Koubou. Sex Machineguns are a speed metal band who have been active since 1983. This special remix CD will feature remixes of 12 of their biggest hits, plus a special 20-minute megamix by DJ Mocchi. I’m not entirely certain who the rearrangers are, but I definitely hear valle blanco, DJ Command, and Rayto influences.
The album is also available digitally on iTunes Japan.
New series from Akiba Koubou featuring high-speed (160+ BPM) remixes of J-Pop songs. All of the songs announced so far have previously been done by AKBK. Hopefully they’ll actually remix them instead of just increasing the tempo.

In addition to the usual AKBK repeats, the CD will include his official theme song, which was released as a single a few years ago and is sung by Halko Momoi. Yuichirou himself will be a doing a cover of “Gekitei”. There are also at least two new songs planned, so the album won’t be a complete waste.

A new Sex Machineguns remix album produced by Akiba Koubou. Sex Machineguns are a speed metal band who have been active since 1983. This special remix CD will feature remixes of 11 of their biggest hits. Since AKBK are involved I’m assuming they’ll be eurobeat remixes. It seems AKBK will be working closely with SMG, as lead singer Anchang will be re-recording vocals for the album.
Producers have been revealed, and it’s mostly valle blanco, with some Beat Charger, Ovrar, Tks (Rayto), and DJ Command thrown in. Akiba Koubou have also put up a digest of songs on YouTube.
This honestly isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, especially compared to the lackluster Kiwami Euro Best. 7 repeats (or 12 if you include resings) isn’t too bad, and the fact that they stayed away from the usual Anime covers was a good choice. I really wish they had went with new Nagisa tracks instead of using songs from 3 years ago, though. Now that I think about it, lately Nagisa has been shut out of the latest Akiba Koubou releases. Hopefully she’s just busy working on a second album.
