Anime Euro Best ~Complete Edition~
Release Date: 2/23/11
Price: 1905 yen
Aww, they changed the title slightly from the redundant Anime Euro Best ~Best Edition~. Ehh, still the same crap track list. Dreamusic have decided to reward their fans with a one disc compilation of repeats from the three AEB releases. They couldn’t at least make it two discs and include full versions? To make matters worse, there are no new songs or even resings at all. And how dare they release a best-of compilation without including “Gekitei”!
Kouryaku Gundan presents J-Euro Buchi Kamashi Slo Pachi Best
Release Date: 2/23/11
Price: 1905 yen
Formerly known as J-Euro Pachinko Big Hits 20 Ren Chan. It’s a blatant ripoff of Tokuma Japan’s popular Geki Atsu! J-Euro series, which focuses on Pachinko/Pachislot themes. Sousei? Check. Zankoku? Check. There are a few new songs on the album, however, which I’ve bolded below. One of them is an original song by DJ Command… I guess I need to get this after all >_<
Anime Euro Best ~Girls Edition~
Release Date: 1/19/11
Price: 2286 yen
Only 3 new songs, and one of those is a resing.
One of the new songs is by DJ Command, while Sumijun of Halozy is responsible for the other two. “Shinryaku no Susume” is certainly up to DJ Command’s usual standards, and I actually really enjoy Sumijun’s work, but 2286 yen for a handful of new songs sure is a lot to ask.
Anime Euro Best ~Best Edition~
Release Date: 2/23/11
Price: 1905 yen
Seriously?! Dreamusic will be releasing an AEB best-of collection next February despite there only being 3 albums in the series so far, and a majority of those tracks were repeats from the Super Anime Remix series. The only upside about this release is that it’s 2000 yen instead of the usual 2400 yen.
30 tracks in all, with perhaps 2 or 3 new songs.
Anime Euro Best ~Girls Edition~
Release Date: 2/16/11
Price: 1905 yen
A blatant ripoff of Tokuma Japan’s popular Geki Atsu! J-Euro series, which focuses on popular Pachinko/Pachislot themes. So far the list is composed only of old Akiba Koubou productions. It remains to be seen if that will change.
Anime Euro Best ~Girls Edition~
Release Date: 1/19/11
Price: 2286 yen
The Anime Euro Best series continues with an edition focusing on girl anime themes. 13 tracks have been announced, and so far they’re all repeats. Assuming that there will be 16 tracks on the final list, that means there’ll only be 3 new tracks.
Utatte Mita! Uta Gassen ~Minna de Tanoshiku Utacchai Mashita~
Release Date: 12/1/10
Price: 2405 yen
Spiritual successor to last December’s hit release, Nikonikouhaku ~Minna de Tanoshiku Asonjaimashita~. Once again produced by Akiba Koubou.
DJ Command fans will be happy to know that he’s responsible for 4 of the tracks here, though only two are new, with the other two being re-sings. In fact, there are a lot of old productions with new vocals on this. There are also guest producers like Sumijun, Asahi, and DJ Katsu.
J-Pop Extra Beat Densetsu
Release Date: 11/3/10
Price: 2284 yen
There’s a surprising amount of 2bad on this. He has a total of 6 songs on the album, the same as valle blanco (though he may actually have 7; I forget who did “Ai ga Tomaranai”). Rayto has 4 tracks, though most of them are repeats or resings from other albums. And although there are two DJ Command songs, only one of them is new.
I got my copy of this the other day and it’s a pretty enjoyable listen and almost makes up for the repeat-fest known as Anime Euro Best ~Robot Edition~. While this also contains a fair number of repeats, the new songs are worth it. Standouts include “Linda Linda,” “Return to Myself,” and “Sekai de Ichiban Atsui Natsu.”
The digital version available at iTunes includes full-length tracks. Unfortunately, it’s 1800 yen and isn’t even iTunes Plus.
Utatte Mita! Uta Gassen ~Minna de Tanoshiku Utacchai Mashita~
Release Date: 12/1/10
Price: 2405 yen
Spiritual successor to last December’s hit release, Nikonikouhaku ~Minna de Tanoshiku Asonjaimashita~. Once again produced by Akiba Koubou, expect appearances by popular Utatte Mita singers such as Yamadan, Hagane Tsuwamono, Usa, Hana-tan, Korosuke, Nodame, and Ayumi Nomiya.
J-Pop Extra Beat Densetsu
Release Date: 11/3/10
Price: 2284 yen
A new series from Dreamusic and Akiba Koubou featuring eurobeat covers of J-Pop songs. A few of these tracks have previously been covered by Akiba Koubou, but for the most part it appears that we’ll be getting fresh material. Ouendan fan that I am, “Linda Linda” excites me the most.
Anime Euro Best ~Robot Edition~
Release Date: 9/15/10
Price: 2284 yen
Perhaps they should’ve just called it “Repeat Edition”? All but 3 of the tracks are repeats from the Super Anime Remix series. In fact, “Sousei no Aquarion” and “Shangri-La” were among the tracks that Akiba Koubou first produced when they started in 2008.
Anime Euro Best ~Robot Edition~
Release Date: 9/15/10
Price: 2284 yen
The second release of the AEB series has robot-themed anime themes as a, umm, theme. All of the songs announced so far have already been done (in some cases, to death) by Akiba Koubou. There should be 18 tracks in all.
Niconikoushien ~Minna Yakyuu Sukika!?~ – Pre-release Info~
Release Date: 7/21/10
Price: 2405 yen
Dizzi Mystica returns? On a eurobeat compilation?! ‘Tis true. While the bulk of this baseball-themed eurobeat album is handled by Akiba Koubou artists, Dizzi Mystica and kors k also make surprise appearances. As for the Akiba Koubou artists, valle blanco gets the most tracks with 5. DJ Command comes in next with 4, while Rayto gets 2 and 2bad gets only 1.
Akiba Koubou just created a YouTube account, and have put up an adorable preview video:
