Super Anime Remix Super Best – Digital Downloads

SAR Super BestSuper Anime Remix Super Best
Release Date: 7/22/09
Price: 10,000 yen

Super Anime Remix Super Best originally came out in July of 2009, but about a year later it was discontinued and any trace of it was expunged from Dreamusic’s site. The 2CD+DVD set became quite a rarity. Then in 2015, SARSB randomly popped up on iTunes with all 50 songs completely intact in non-stop mix form. The kicker, however, was that they didn’t allow for the album to be purchased as a whole, meaning you’d have to buy each of the tracks individually for 200 yen. That means 10,000 yen for the entire album. Yeah, good luck with that.

Super Anime Remix Super Best – Final Release Info

Posted by DanceMaster on July 16, 2009

SAR Super BestSuper Anime Remix Super Best
Release Date: 7/22/09
Price: 2857 yen

First of all, that title is ridiculously redundant. Second, the font looks exactly like the font EMI used to use for their Dancemania “Super Best” releases.

Although it looks like there are a lot of repeats, a few of the songs seem to have new vocalists. It’s unclear of the tracks will be remixed as well, but it’s doubtful. After all, when Akiba Koubou did a Nagisa version of “Sousei no Aquarion” it was just the Haruka version with Nagisa’s vocals instead. 🙁

By the way, it seems that Dreamusic will be hosting a ParaPara competition of their own. Details at the SAR Official Site.

Super Anime Remix presents Techno Pop – Final Release Info

Super Anime Remix Techno PopSuper Anime Remix presents Techno Pop
Release Date: 6/17/09
Price: 2381 yen

At first glance it looks like there are a lot of repeats, but I’m fairly sure these are all new tracks or remixes. It appears that all of the tracks will be full-length versions. They better be if there are only 12 tracks in all.

Super Anime Remix Best – Pre-release Info

Posted by DanceMaster on June 7, 2009

Super Anime Remix Best
Release Date: 7/22/09
Price: 2857 yen

The first SAR came out less than a year ago, yet Dreamusic have already deemed it necessary to do a best-of release. Because everyone was really clamoring to hear “Sousei no Aquarion” again. That said, at least it has Tugumi’s excellent cover of “Naraku no Hana.”

I’m not entirely sure what the two CDs will have. My best guess is that both will be non-stop mixes. Meanwhile, the DVD will contain ParaPara routines for the most overexpos– err, best Akiba Koubou songs.

Super Anime Remix Touge 2 – Final Release Info

Super Anime Remix Touge 2Super Anime Remix Touge stage 2
Release Date: 5/27/09
Price: 2381 yen

I was excited to hear that Red Monster would be back with a new collaboration with Tugumi, but I never would have imagined that the duo would be taking on my favorite anime theme, “Naraku no Hana”!! I’m also a big fan of “Uninstall” and, of course, “Glamorous Sky.” I really like “Shangri-La,” too, but didn’t need to hear it repeated again.

Posted by DanceMaster on April 18, 2009

Super Anime Remix 3Super Anime Remix Vol. 3
Release Date: 4/22/09
Price: 2286 yen

Not a bad final list, with plenty of songs that haven’t been covered by Quake (at least not yet). “Lion” is a repeat from Super Anime Remix Touge, but everything else is new.

Disc 1 is a non-stop mix, while disc 2 contains the full versions.

Super Anime Remix presents Techno Pop – Update

Posted by DanceMaster on March 31, 2009

Super Anime Remix presents Techno Pop
Release Date: 6/17/09
Price: 2381 yen

Would it be at all possible to have an anime remix album without “Sousei” or “Zankoku”? I guess the answer is a resounding no, because the tentative list for SAR Techno Pop has both. On the plus side, it also has “Naraku no Hana.”

Unlike the main SAR series, Techno Pop will be a single CD. Whether or not it will be a non-stop mix has yet to be determined. If the final list only has 13 songs, however, I’d expect full-length versions plus a short mega mix.

Super Anime Remix Touge 2 – Update

Super Anime Remix Touge 2
Release Date: 5/27/09
Price: 2381 yen

The tentative list is out, and it’s an eclectic mix of anime, J-Euro, and, for some reason, Mega Man songs. “Airman ga Taosenai” has certainly been getting a lot of airplay recently.

Super Anime Remix presents Techno Pop – Pre-release Info

Posted by DanceMaster on March 25, 2009

Super Anime Remix presents Techno Pop
Release Date: 6/17/09
Price: 2381 yen

A new SAR release for the third month in a row. I can’t even remember the last time there were Dancemania releases three months in a row. This latest sub-series in the SAR series will focus on Techno Pop arrangements rather than the usual Eurobeat.

Pre-order at CDJapan.

Super Anime Remix Touge 2 – Pre-release Info

Posted by DanceMaster on March 24, 2009

Super Anime Remix Touge 2
Release Date: 5/27/09
Price: 2381 yen

The second release in the Touge series comes out a mere month after Super Anime Remix 3. It’s a little sad that the SAR series is currently more prolific than the Dancemania or even Trance Paradise series. I also don’t get why the single-disc releases in the Touge series are more expensive than the two-disc sets of the main series.

Anyway, there’s no early track list yet, but you can obviously expect lots of Akiba Koubou tracks. Red Monster will also be back with another collaboration with Tugumi.

Super Anime Remix Vol. 3
Release Date: 4/22/09

Another 2-disc release in the SAR series. Some of the songs listed were originally scheduled for SAR 2 but didn’t end up making it.

I’m absolutely shocked that they still haven’t covered “Ponyo.”

Super Anime Remix Vol. 2 – Final Release Info

Posted by DanceMaster on January 20, 2009

Super Anime Remix 2Super Anime Remix Vol. 2
Release Date: 1/28/09
Price: 2286 yen

The sequel to Super Anime Remix includes 100% new material, a rare feat these days. Of course, a lot of the songs featured have been covered endlessly before, but at least they didn’t cover “Sousei no Aquarion” a third time.

As with the first SAR, disc 1 will be a non-stop mix. However, most retailers are reporting that disc 2 will have karaoke versions instead of full-length vocal versions.

Super Anime Remix Vol. 2
Release Date: 1/28/09
Price: 2286 yen

Man, they’re really churning these out, aren’t they? The sequel to Super Anime Remix Vol. 1 once again features a 2-disc set of eurobeat anime covers. Many of the artists are still undecided, but it’s nice to see new material from Shihori, who is perhaps Akiba Koubou’s best vocalist.

Super Anime Remix Touge – Final Release Info

Posted by DanceMaster on December 10, 2008

SAR TougeSuper Anime Remix Touge
Release Date: 12/24/08
Price: 2381 yen

I originally said this was the sequel to Super Anime Remix Vol. 1, but it turns out that it’s just an interim sub-release before the real Vol. 2 (more on that tomorrow). “Touge” in this context seems to refer to touge racing, so the album is basically a way to capitalize off Initial D’s success.

The track list mostly comprises new songs, though I spot a couple of repeats.

Super Anime Remix presents Touge

Wow, I didn’t expect a sequel to Super Anime Remix so soon. You know the drill: eurobeat covers of anime themes from Akiba Koubou. This time there’ll only be a single mixed CD.

Oh, and there’s yet another cover of “Sousei no Aquarion.”
