It’s been 5 years since his last release, but Overhead Champion is back with new trance tracks! When this was announced I was afraid it was going to be EDM, but it’s pure, unabashed J-Trance.

The EP appears to be available worldwide on a variety of services, including Amazon MP3, iTunes, Beatport, and others.

2014 is the 10-year anniversary of the J-Trance boom, when series like Mega Trance, Trance Paradise, and Super Best Trance all started (though the original Trance Rave actually came out in 2001). Keep an eye out later this year when I’ll do posts on older J-Trance releases that predated the start of this blog.

    Not sure if it is just me but i noticed many albums removed from the iTune store. Noticeably those Mega Trance, Trance Giga and Super Best Trance series.. I used to still see a couple from each series… Not sure whats up with Avex’s decision for removing those from ITune….

    Hmm, I still see the Mega Trance and Trance Giga albums still up. Are you sure your iTunes store is set to Japan?

    Yes. I do have the store set to Japan region. Mega Trance strangely reappears now but Super Best Trance Series, especially those EPs and X’mas Special are gone… I also remember seeing more than 1 Trance Giga album on iTune at some point… O_o

    Yeah, the SBT and House Nation EPs released last year were pulled down for some unknown reason. There’s still a decent SBT collection on Mora, but you’d have to buy the tracks individually: http://mora.jp/package/43000002/AVCD-23718/

    I bought this on iTunes japan as soon as I saw it! Also i tweeted at OHC and he told me that he might have a new album by the end of the year 🙂

    Ooh, a full album would be pretty awesome. I thought the EP was fantastic, so I’m definitely hoping for more.
