Two months after the revival of the Rave Mix series, Avex went on to release another digital non-stop mix by Remo-con. Unfortunately the series went back into hibernation after the second release, and it doesn’t look like Avex have any plans to revisit again anytime soon.
Rave Mix 01 -Best Hit EDM-

Avex’s Rave Mix 001 came out in August of 2013, but despite the numbering it seemed destined to be a one-off release. Enter 2015, when Avex randomly decided to revisit the series, this time with a digital non-stop mix mixed by the one and only Remo-con.
Chou Fami Compi

Sequel to 2011’s Fami Compi and 2012’s Zoku Fami Compi. Yup, it’ll be three years since the last release. The series features dance arrangements of popular Famicom tracks. The track list has some songs from previous releases. It’s unclear of those will be new arrangements, or if this is some sort of best-of release with a few new tracks.
Also, for some reason there’s a Makuake (Japanese equivalent of Kickstarter) campaign going on for the album. Presumably the album will come out no matter what, but if you contribute then you’ll get extras likes pins, stickers, or release party tickets.

That’s right, they used FARM’s cover of “Let It Go” despite the fact that Avex distribute Disney’s music in Japan. Volume 1 of the Global Mix series was an interesting mix of Saifam, Power Music, and Avex artists, but the sequel drops Saifam and Power Music in favor of more traditional EDM artists. Once again, mixed by DJ Boss of Y&Co.

Welp, I think Avex are just straight up trolling now. It’s been a year since the first set of SBT EPs came and went, but it looks like they’re releasing at least one new SBT EP this year. First of all, it’s 50 yen more expensive than before. Second, the edits of most of the tracks are quite short, basically radio edit length. But to really rub salt in the wound, they chose mostly non-trance remixes. Three out of the five songs are basically hyper techno. It can’t be said enough: Fuck you, Avex.

Dconstructed -EDM Meets Disney·Pixar-

Dconstructed was released in the US in April, both in CD form as well as a digital download, but the Japanese version will have two bonus tracks. Interestingly the subtitle was changed from “EDM Meets Disney” to “EDM Meets Disney·Pixar.” The CD release is being advertised as having a “metal” jacket.

Huh, for some reason I thought the first one was just going to be a one-off release, but it looks like Avex will continue the Global Mix series this July. Volume 1 was an interesting mix of Saifam, Power Music, and Avex artists, so I’m assuming the sequel will be the same.
