DJ Kenny

Biography

DJ KennyOne of J-Trance’s rising stars, DJ Kenny (real name unknown) was previously best known for organizing Trance Rave events in the Kyushu region of Japan. He originally lived in Tosu, a city in the Saga prefecture of Japan. He subsequently spent some time in Perth, Australia, before moving to Tokyo and finally back to his hometown of Tosu. Once back in Kyushu, he began DJing at a variety of clubs and events in the region.

Kenny made the transition to music producer last year when his original song, “Blue Force,” appeared on the 18th volume of the long-running Trance Rave Best series. The talented DJ contributed another new song, “White Knight” to Trance Rave Best #19.

This week, a DJ Yoshinori remix of “Blue Force” will appear on Tragenic Best ~Next Level~. DJ Kenny was gracious enough to send me a preview of the remix, and it’s quite faithful to the original melody while adding even more piano awesomeness. I slightly prefer DJ Kenny’s original synths, but Yoshinori fans will not be disappointed.

Piano Trance! Similar in style to “Blue Force,” but more uplifting. It’s actually my favorite DJ Kenny song thus far. The full version is a staggering 7:46 long, but the edits featured on compilations have cut it in half.
