Update (12/4/11): Delayed a week to January 25. The similarly themed Let’s Dance -Super 80s Disco Hits- has also been delayed to January 18, but I suspect that will end up being delayed to the 25th as well. I wonder how many tracks the two releases will end up sharing.

Update (11/30/11): CD Japan’s pre-order page is up. It mentions that there’ll be 25 tracks in all, and once again licenses from other labels will play a big part. As with Around 40 Eurobeat, there’ll be a bonus Japanese 80s disco track. My guess is it’ll be “Aa Mujou” or “Dancing Hero” again. Also, they note that Dancemania Sparkle has sold over 50,000 copies since its release. Not quite as good as Treasure, which finished with over 80k.

Update (11/19/11): More tracks revealed, but nothing surprising.

Wow, here I was thinking we’d have to wait until 2016 for another Dancemania release. Rather than focusing on the 90s, this release looks to be featuring primarily 80s dance hits. So, basically, it’s another repackaging of the same old repeats we’ve been hearing for years. However, as with Dancemania Sparkle, Classics will license tracks from other labels for a more “complete” experience. For instance, Boys Town Gang’s version of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” will be making its Dancemania debut.

Never mind the repeats; the worst part about this is we’ll probably have to see that ugly Sparkle logo again. Still, I’m glad the Dancemania name lives on.
