FRECKLES! Pretty solid selection of anime tracks, and the samples up on YouTube sound pretty good. The CD will be available at Sakuracon this weekend. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until April 5 to order the CD from the official Disko Warp website. The iTunes release will come even later, in May. Unfortunately, the iTunes release will be limited to the US only.
On a related note, Speedisko Vol. 2 was supposed to have been released in March, but it looks like it’s been pushed back to a later date.
Disko Warp presents Speedisko Hyper Anime Trax
Release Date: 4/1/10
Price: TBA
Update! The title has been changed to Disko Warp presents Anime Love Hardcore.
Disko Warp will be releasing a collection of high-speed anime covers this April. The only confirmed track so far is “Zankoku na Tenshi no These.” Thankfully, Pete has also promised that neither “Sousei” nor “Ponyo” will appear, so at least we’ll be spared from those again. There’ll be 10 songs in all, and the album will be available in both CD form and as a digital release.
Disko Warp presents Speedisko Vol. 2
Release Date: ??/10
Price: TBA
Update! Originally scheduled for March, but it looks like it’s release has been delayed April or later.
Second release in the Speedisko series from Disko Warp records. Vol. 2 will be another digital release and will come out this March. Five tracks have been confirmed so far, though there’s no word on how many tracks will be included in all.
Disko Warp presents Speedisko Vol. 1
Release Date: 10/09
Price: $7.92
The long-delayed Speedisko Vol. 1 finally makes it debut. If I remember correctly there was supposed to be a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up,” but it looks like it didn’t make it.
Anyway, Speedisko Vol. 1 is supposed to be the first in a series of Disko Warp compilations. One of the highlights of this first volume is an excellent, new Cusimo & Co. Speedy mix of “Lolitabot.” I was lukewarm to the original speedy mix, but this remix is absolutely perfect. The incredible Ricardo Autobahn remix of “Sexy Vampire” also makes an appearance, albeit in radio edit form.
There’s supposed to be a collaboration with Magic Hammer, which I assume is track 2 since it’s the only eurobeat song on the album. I wish the vocals were a little clearer, but the synthwork is top notch. I’m also quite partial to “UFO Catcher,” a catchy new instrumental song by Initial P.
The single is available on Amazon and iTunes.
In related news, Disko Warp are currently running a karaoke contest with some great prizes, including copies of Happy*Core Speed and Happy Core*Speed ~Mikoshi Trance~.
More details on how to enter can be found at their website: http://www.diskowarp.com/contest.php The deadline to enter is January 15, 2010.
Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire -Remixes-
Release Date: 10/09
Price: $5.94
In hindsight it probably would’ve been more apropos had I posted this yesterday. In any case, Disko Warp Music have released a new digital single featuring new remixes of one of their biggest hits to date, “Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire.”
The highlight of the album is easily Ricardo Autobahn’s rocking trance remix. Coming in at a steady 140 BPM, the remix has great trance synths that suit the melody quite well. Ricardo is best known to Dancemania fans as a member of the duo, Rikki & Daz. I’ll let you figure out which one he was.
The Chris Jay mix is the slowest one, coming in at 128 BPM. 80′s eurodance fans will love it, however, as it borrows heavily from the PWL sound.
Speed remixes are supplied by Cusimo & Co. and Initial P, while eurobeat fans wills be pleased with the Magic Hammer ’til Death mix (gotta love that disco break). Lastly, there’s an 8-bit chiptune remix from Kid Whatever.
Samples are available at the newly redesigned Disko Warp website. The single is available on Amazon and iTunes.
Disko Warp Best Hits
Release Date: 9/17/09
Price: $12.00
Aww, “Best Hits” is so plain and unassuming. “Super Best” would’ve been much better.
Anyway, as you can tell by the title, Disko Warp just released their first best-hits CD, including everything they’ve ever done for DDR.

Disko Warp Meets Sakuma Hitomi & J-Girls
Release Date: 6/3/09
Quick update regarding this album. The release date has slipped from 5/27 to 6/3, apparently due to the Golden Week holiday in Japan. Also, the Disko Warp remix of “Over You” is presumably appearing on Pony Canyon’s upcoming “Happy Core*Speed” compilation.

Disko Warp Meets Sakuma Hitomi & J-Girls
Release Date: 5/27/09
West meets East in this upcoming collaboration between Disko Warp and Musicrush. Disko Warp, of course, are famous for penning Smile.dk’s “Doki Doki” as well as for producing their own distinct brand of happy hardcore and eurobeat. Musicrush are sort of a Japanese equivalent to Disko Warp, delivering some of the best independent music that Japan has to offer. Musicrush have delivered music to some of Japan’s top labels, including Universal, Victor, and FARM.
Disko Warp Meets Sakuma Hitomi & J-Girls will feature new Disko Warp remixes of Musicrush’s biggest hits, including Sakuma Hitomi’s “Change My World.” Also included will be a remix of Eryko’s “Ready for Love,” which previously appeared on FARM’s VIP Mega Euro Star series.
The album will be available on various digital download services in late May.

Lolitabot
Release Date: 12/08
Price: $3.96
A new single from Disko Warp Records, who collaborated with the Smile.dk team for “Doki Doki.” “Lolitabot” has catchy lyrics and a really strong, memorable synth hook. However, like a lot of hardcore these days, there’s a little too much emphasis on bass for me. Hardcore fans will love it, though, so if you’re in to the genre then do yourself a favor and check out the Initial P remix at the very least. Myself, I wish they had included a slower dance remix akin to what Saifam usually does for Jenny Rom songs.
Digital downloads now available at CDBaby.

02. Lolitabot (Disko Warp Radio Edit)
03. Lolitabot (Disko Warp Extended Mix)
