CJ Crew are back!

CJ Crew featured prominently on the Dancemania Speed series, but are probably best known for their DDR appearances with the songs “Rhythm & Police” and “Ninzaburo (Furuhata’s Theme).” I recently contacted Chris Bucknall, who made up the ‘C’ half of CJ Crew, and asked him a few questions, the answers to which will be published soon in an in-depth feature on CJ Crew.

In the meantime, Chris has mentioned that he’s interested in working on new “Speed” tracks, but is looking for suggestions on what to cover. This is where you guys come in. What songs do you want to hear covered?

Here’s what I’d like to hear:
Lady Gaga – Poker Face
Katy Perry – Waking Up in Vegas
Ne-Yo – Closer
Rihanna – Umbrella
Alphabeat – Boyfriend
Coldplay – Viva la Vida
Michael Jackson – Beat It

Post your own suggestions in the comments section. Just, please, don’t recommend “Sousei no Aquarion” or I’ll hurt you.

And yes, they’re looking at getting their back catalogue released. Please help spread the word!

Doctor Who theme would be absolutely brilliant. Big Girls Don’t Cry would be great too; I always love it when they turn ballads into speed songs.

  4. AL3X Says:

Are they going to do like S&K and release all their stuff on iTunes?

  5. DanceMaster Says:

Details haven’t been hashed out yet. I mentioned iTunes and Juno Download to him, but it’s also possible that he’ll be offering the tracks directly, much like Saifam.

  6. Travis Says:

    Any update on this?

  7. DanceMaster Says:

None, unfortunately. I’ve been a bit busy, so I haven’t had time to work on my CJ Crew feature. I’ll hopefully have it up by the holidays, and I’ll try to contact Chris Bucknall or John Briley for updates.

  8. Interested Says:

Any updates on this? Has it been released? I’m actually interested in knowing if they will release an entire Dancemania megamix dedicated to Michael Jackson, similar to what they did for E-Rotic. If not, then Billie Jean or Smooth Criminal would be awesome options for a speed remix.

  9. DJ Tomoe Says:

Wait, you mean they made the Dancemania presents E-ROTIC Megamix?
I tought that was David Brandes. 😮
