Dancemania Sparkle – Best of 90s Dance Pop – Update

Dancemania Sparkle – Best of 90s Dance Pop
Release Date: 8/3/11 ? 8/24/11
Price: 2381 yen

Delayed to August 24th from its original August 3rd release date. In the meantime, EMI have released the cover art and what appears to be the final track list. The cover isn’t quite as nice as Treasure’s; I particularly don’t care for the font used for “Sparkle.”

The tracklist is mostly predictable, with Me & My, Smile.dk, Captain Jack and E-Rotic all making an appearance. There’s also representation from Almighty and AATW, two of the most prolific Dancemania labels. A handful of tracks licensed from other companies round out the list, with Los del Rio, Mr. President, and T-Spoon making their Dancemania debuts. Notable exclusions include Bus Stop and DJ Miko. In fact, it’s disappointing that there’s nothing from Saifam at all. :/

02. Wannabe / Spice Girls

I wonder if the MEGA GRAPHICS guys did the cover. It wouldn’t be Dancemania without them.

  2. DanceMaster Says:

If it’s not Mega Graphics, then they did a good job at copying his style. I am happy that they kept the mascot at least ^^

Hmm, now I’m wondering if MST will be doing the mixing.

SAIFAM’s exclusion is a little strange, especially since they produced two really random, out of the blue 90’s covers about a month ago.

TH EXPRESS / OOH AH JUST A LITTLE BIT (The Factory Team Remix)

    &

RADIORAMA / JELLYHEAD (The Factory Team Remix)

Maybe these were intended for this compilation but got scrapped?

  4. DJ Tomoe Says:

I doubt it, but having the original “Ooh Ahh” in this album would have been awesome.

Not on topic but I can’t find a contact form: are you aware that a lot of posts on the RSS feed do not appear on the site? For exemple “Vocaloid Laboratory – Final Release Info”.

  6. DanceMaster Says:

Heh, I suppose I should explain. In general I write these posts months in advance and just schedule them to automatically post on a future date. Now, when I initially write them I often don’t have the actual final release info, so I have to edit them before they’re published. However, as you may have noticed I’ve been a bit behind on posts these last few months due to time constraints (i.e., laziness and general procrastination). Sometimes the posts get published before I get a chance to add the correct info or change the date of publication, so I have to take them down. I wasn’t aware they still showed up on the RSS feed, so I’ll try better to keep posts from being published before they’re ready.

Anyway, I’m almost caught up with posts, and hope to resume regularly scheduled daily updates soon ^^

They just added “15th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EDITION” on the cover, just to cash-in even more, lol.

For some reason seeing Scatman on a Dancemania album looks strange.
