The second release in the Touge series comes out a mere month after Super Anime Remix 3. It’s a little sad that the SAR series is currently more prolific than the Dancemania or even Trance Paradise series. I also don’t get why the single-disc releases in the Touge series are more expensive than the two-disc sets of the main series.

Anyway, there’s no early track list yet, but you can obviously expect lots of Akiba Koubou tracks. Red Monster will also be back with another collaboration with Tugumi.

Dancemania presents Natsu Monogatari 2009 supported by 9LoveJ (CD+DVD)

Natsu Monogatari returns for a third year in a row! Despite last year’s average release, it is nice to see the series return since it’s pretty much the only thing keeping Dancemania alive.

In the past, Natsu Monogatari albums were released on the last Wednesday of June, so theoretically NM 2009 should be released on June 24. However, the actual release date this year will be a few weeks earlier, on June 10. The change is most likely because Avex have decided to release Campus Summit 2009 on June 24, perhaps in an attempt to supplant the competition.

Love ParaPara ~ Eurobeat Hits 30!

Just a quick update with a look at the cover art. As you can see, the logo has been completed changed, almost as if they’re trying to pretend it’s a new series. They’ve kept the same illustrator, however, so there’s some continuity with the character designs.

Buchiage Parance #9

No Euro Panic! repeats! All right, that’s not entirely true because there are a few on the DVD. Surprisingly, however, the CD appears to be mostly new songs and remixes from Akiba Koubou. A few of the tracks are even labeled as 9LoveJ remixes, so it seems that 9LoveJ are involved with this release.

Other tracks include the obligatory “Ponyo” and “Caramelldansen” from Quake. There are also a few songs from artists known as L-mode and Stylish Heart. I’ve never heard of them, nor could I find any further information on them.

The DVD mostly has tracks from Zipang along with the aforementioned Euro Panic! repeats.

Anime*Max

This CD comes as a somewhat of a surprise, as it’s being released by Geneon Entertainment, who haven’t released a eurobeat CD in quite some time. It was originally titled “TechPara Anime!” but the title was recently changed to “Anime*Max” to meet the strict requirement that all anime-themed CDs have a star symbol in their titles.

I have a funny feeling that this will be produced by Ventura music, who were also responsible for last year’s Anime*Mania. That’s purely conjecture, of course, but I don’t know anyone else who could do it.

All I need to know is that it has “Naraku no Hana.” Sold!

Buchiage Parance #9

The 9th release in Victor’s ongoing Buchiage Trance/Parance series. Not too many details yet, though hopefully Victor are out of old Euro Panic! songs to repeat.

Oh, joy, both “Caramelldansen” and “Sousei no Aquarion.” We certainly haven’t heard those two enough this year! And as a bonus, there’s also “One Million Miles,’ which has only shown up a few dozen times on other compilations.

If all those Quake repeats weren’t enough, there are also quite a few repeats from Victor’s old eurobeat series, Euro Panic!, which was last seen in 2001. I really can’t believe that Victor are so cheap that they can’t bother licensing newer eurobeat from Saifam.

Ah well, there are at least a few new songs on this, including Kei’s cover of “Tamashii no Refrain.”

Before there was Hime Trance, there was Buchiage Trance. Victor’s Trance Rave sub-series was the best-selling trance series in Japan until Hime Trance came along. It’s been struggling in recent years, and by the time the seventh release came out they rebranded the series as Buchiage Parance with a new emphasis on eurobeat and Para Para (hence the title), though trance, techno, and psychedelic continued to be featured. The upcoming eighth release continues the Para Para theme and will once again come with a DVD. No early list yet, but expect Kei to appear.
