Avex haven’t been doing much with trance lately, so it was a surprise to see a brand new digital single from Overhead Champion.

Starts off electro-ish, but transitions into classic OHC, which is very much a good thing. Hopefully this is a sign that Avex haven’t abandoned the SBT series yet. The single is now available for purchase on iTunes and various other Japanese download services. Keep in mind that Avex still haven’t made the switch to iTunes Plus, so if you grab the single from there you’ll get saddled with DRM and likely a low bit rate as well.

I’m pretty sure Helios, who selects the tracks for this series, is an unabashed fan of Smile.dk, so I’m kind of surprised that he hasn’t found a way to include them yet. The actual list is mostly the same old Handz Up (do people still use that term anymore?) from the same old artists.

Ring-a-diggi-dong, what’s going on?! The utterly cheesy, yet strangely infectious, “Wake up the world” is the lead track for this latest collection of Quake repeats. Some of the repeats are from really old albums, going as far back as Quake Trance Best 5.
The album is mixed by DJ Murauchi, who also contributes the album’s sole new song.

Mega Trance 10 Anniversary

FARM will celebrate the 5th anniversary of Mega Trance with a special 2-disc release. Disc 1 will feature the latest songs and remixes, while disc will compile the very best of DJ U*Hey? New songs and remixes! Of course, there are still plenty of repeats, but I think the new material looks worthwhile enough. I’ve particularly grateful for a new “Holylance” remix instead of having to endure the Texas Boys or Crystal remix yet again.
Judging by the titles alone, “Healing Place” and “Open Your Eyes (Perfect Stream vs. MK Uplifting Remix)” should be great, peaceful music to listen to in the background.

Yes, this was one of the real titles I alluded to on April Fools’ Day. It’s yet another SATB sub-series, this time focusing on anime movie themes. The strange thing is a couple of the tracks on the early list have already been featured in previous SATB releases. Hopefully they’re new remixes/covers instead of just plain repeats.
