GASP! Can it be? Quake are finally doing a VGM trance? The title is a portmanteau of “Famicom” (itself a combination of “Family” + “Computer”) and “Trance.” The EX is just there to make it sound more extreme. The album will consist of trance versions of popular Famicom themes, with songs from Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest already confirmed. I imagine Super Mario Bros. and Zelda will also be well represented.

Exit Trance presents Tokusatsu Trance 3 Gouki (Unit 3)

Once again, the list is dominated by Super Sentai and Kamen Rider themes. “Midnight Dekaranger” is a fantastic big band song that has insanely catchy lyrics, so I’m certainly looking forward to that one.

I’ll die happy if they ever do the Power Rangers theme. Make it happen, Quake!

“Glamorous Sky” is the latest Ouendan song to get an Exit Trance remix! I’m also looking forward to hearing how Joe Hisaishi’s “Oriental Wind” translates to trance. I’m not familiar with most of the other songs, though I’m assuming “Butterfly” won’t be the Smile.dk song.

Took a while for a sequel to Itasha Trance to materialize, although I’m surprised there’s a follow-up release at all. Itasha Trance is sort of geared towards the otaku car culture, and as such, you can expect lots of repeats from the Speed Anime Trance Best releases.

Quite a few repeats on this fifth release in the Gakou Trance series. “Dschinghis Khan” is pretty surprising, though perhaps not as exciting as “Hero (Holding Out for a Hero).” Shouldn’t that have been on Cinema Covers instead?
