Do my eyes deceive me? No repeats?! The list of artists is also nicely varied, with no one person getting more than 4 tracks. Two of the more obscure producers, mitchy and S-Mushroom, also make appearances. Although, I wonder if they’re just pseudonyms?

Another anime-themed compilation from Avex. No “Zankoku,” but “Sousei no Aquarion” rears its overused head once again. Most of the tracks are by Avex artists like AAA, m.o.v.e and TRF. It is notable for a trio of Spacey tracks, including the debut of the Spacey vs. Polaris remix of Tsukasa’s “Shin Ai” as well as a Spacey vs. Polaris remix of “Dreams,” which just appeared on the excellent Aneuta compilation. Surprisingly, it also includes a FARM license in the form of mioco’s “Sorairo Days.”

Speed Anime Trance Best reaches an epic milestone with the 10th release in the series. I spot a few repeats, unfortunately, including “SW” from TranceMaster 03 for no discernable reason. Am I wrong in thinking that “SW” was an original song? Or did some anime series pick it up as a theme?
Anywho, MK features most prominently once again, with a total of 7 tracks. Hommarju comes in a distant second with 4 (one of which is a repeat). Disco da Gama has 3 tracks, while Ryu* gets 2 (although only one is actually new). Acid=Stone Valley and Cubby-S get only one track each. Starving Trancer is represented with one track, but again, it’s a repeat. B.U.S. and Icon get no love whatsoever.
Limited edition comes with a figure of Yuzuha. I don’t recall hearing that name before, so perhaps it’s the girl on the cover? Both the limited and regular editions comes with a fake credit card featuring the cover art. Oddly, the limited and regular editions have the same cover art. I kinda liked the alternate covers in the past. :{

One of my favorite Dancemania Speed songs gets a trance makeover! Chris Bucknall, half of the duo known as CJ Crew, now runs Cubit Records, a new UK label that focuses on Pop and Dance. He’s decided to revisit one of his original works, “Another Way,” which originally appeared on Speed Giga 4 ~ Dancemania Speed Evolution. As far as I can tell the vocals are the same on this remake. The entire single (6 tracks in all) is available for only $2.49 at 7digital!
Unfortunately, there’s no Speed remix :{
That reminds me, I really should work on that CJ Crew feature…

Only three UmaUma Trance albums have come out since the last Complete Best, so this release seems premature to me. In addition to 8 tracks from UmaUma Trance 6, 6 tracks from UmaUma Trance 7, and 8 tracks from UmaUma Trance 8, there are also 7 brand new tracks, mostly done by Hommarju. Oh, and for some reason it has the Speedycake remix of “Caramelldansen.” They could have at least commissioned a new remix.
In breaking news, Quake will be releasing a Ryu* album this coming fall. Hopefully that doesn’t mean he’ll be MIA for SATB 10.

Moe trance covers of J-Pop songs. I have no idea what that means. A few of the announced tracks were originally done by male singers, so maybe that means the covers will be done by “moe” girls?
Aneuta -80~90’s Girl Pop Non-Stop Cover-

N.O.-SYO outdoes himself with this spiritual successor to Oreuta. Initially I thought the whole album would be by N.O.-SYO but they wisely added other artists to the mix, including Delaction, Spacey, and NRG Factory. Vocals are performed by Hime Trance mainstays Tsukasa and Kei, and some songs actually have the original artists providing the vocals. It all adds up to one of the most enjoyable trance albums of the year.
It’s worth noting that full versions are now up for sale on various download services, including iTunes Japan. Neither of the Akira Asukara tracks nor the bonus track by Hatsune Miku are available, however. To make matters worse, you have the buy the tracks individually for 200 yen each (3000 yen for all of the tracks), plus they’re low quality and saddled with DRM. You’re much better off buying the CD, as the tracks are given generously long edits so I doubt you’d be missing much.
