The autumn M3 event took place last weekend, and DJ Hyuji continued his prolific year with the release of two new albums. The first, “Leaving Leaves,” features two original songs and lots of remixes of those songs by frequent RTTF collaborators like Tadashi Yamamoto, Takahiro Aoki, and Luna. As always, a number of styles are represented, including speedcore, EDM, and J-Trance.

Maharaja ’80s Disco -30th Anniversary-

Well, this is a surprise. Just when I thought FARM were moving towards EDM only, they announce a tie-up compilation with Maharaja. What makes this especially odd is that Maharaja releases were usually Avex’s domain. Anyway, there are 26 songs planned, and apparently they’ll only be using the original versions (i.e., no covers).
DJ Kaori’s Best EDM Mix

The latest release in the hugely popular DJ Kaori’s Mix series, which has sold over 4 million copies over the years since its debut in 2005. This one will focus on EDM hits, though the early list looks really mainstream. You can visit the official website for more info on previous entries.

Sick EDM 02 mixed by C’k

New EDM release from Dreamusic and the second in the Sick EDM series. Mixed by C’k, who some may remember was a member of the J-Pop group, Shanadoo. Quite a few licenses from Spinnin’ Records, and there are even two songs that already appeared on the first Sick EDM. The last third of the album does feature original Japanese-produced EDM, however, including a collaboration between C’k and Overhead Champion.
Ultra Music Festival Japan 2014

Official tie-in compilation for the Japanese leg of the Ultra Musical Festival tour that’s taking place today and tomorrow. Featured EDM artists include Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, Martin Garrix and Krewella. I think there’s some sort of concerted effort among all of the Japanese labels to cram “Booyah” down our throats.
I believe this isn’t a non-stop mix, as a digital version is available featuring 14/18 songs, and the track lengths are similar to the CD versions. The digital version is a rip-off, too, as you can only purchase the songs individually for 200 yen each.
Ultra Party Anthem mixed by DJ Toshiya

New dance compilation from the relatively new label that brought you Edge Beat Idol. First-press copies come with a bonus DVD.
The first track is labeled as a “short mega mix,” but it’s unclear if the rest of the album is full versions or a longer continuous mix.
Party Time -Monster Hits- mixed by DJ Akeey

New compilation from FARM Records. In addition to their own in-house artists and Power Music, it looks like FARM have also started licensing from New York-based AV8 Records. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there’s all that much new material here. Not even one new Daiki × ZK song. 🙁
glee in the House

New compilation from FARM Records featuring rather boring house versions of songs featured on Glee. The digital edition differs quite a bit from the CD version. I believe both have full versions, but the digital edition has an extra two songs (“Black and White” and “Rolling in the Deep”) plus karaoke versions for ALL of the songs for a total of 16 tracks and 16 karaoke versions as opposed to the CD’s 14 tracks + 3 karaoke versions.
