ZIPmania Special

The end of the year is upon us, and that can only mean one thing: Toy Day (otherwise known as Christmas) is coming! As a special present for Dancemania fans who are supporting the releases, I’ve got something special for people who have purchased either ZIPmania All Best Mix, ZIPmania Super Greatest Hits, or both. Just make a post in the comments with a link to a picture of your copy of the album and a little piece of paper with your username on it, or take a screenshot of your iTunes receipt (make sure to edit out any identifying details). I’ll contact you via e-mail, hopefully by the end of the year, with details on how to claim your present. Please no photoshops or printouts of the ZIPmania cover in a CD case. Unless they’re really good, in which case I’ll send you something for trying, lol.

Update (10/4/13): Finished extracting data from Saifam’s site for the SPE catalogue. I’ve placed the raw data in some spreadsheets if anyone is interested in them. From 1-171, the only ones missing from Saifam’s catalogue were SPE 147 and 150. Next I’ll write the code to extract data from Juno.

Update! (5/31/13): Apologies for the slight delay, but winners have been chosen for the contest. Terezinha wins first prize for remembering the time when EMI tried to force “Rhythm & Police” on every Speed compilation possible. I used a random number generator to determine the second prize, and the winner is Saolo.

All other participants will receive one song download from Juno Download OR iTunes US OR Amazon MP3 US. Please keep an eye out for an e-mail from me shortly! Thanks to everyone for participating!

Back to Basics…

In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been back for a few days now. Thankfully I had just enough posts scheduled to last during the break, though I do apologize for most of them being about Disco or Anime compilations (you can blame the labels for releasing nothing but CDs from those genres). I still have to go through my backlog of e-mails, so if you e-mailed me during the past three weeks please be patient in awaiting a response.

I also noticed that the poll hasn’t been working. Dunno when it stopped working, but it’s fixed now.

…in the summer sun. By the time you read this I’ll be on a long flight to somewhere (hopefully) sunny. I’ll be gone for the next two weeks and may have limited internet access, so apologies if I can’t respond to any messages. I do have posts scheduled over the next two weeks, including some long-delayed reviews, so keep an eye out for those. Have a fun summer, everyone!

We’re in the middle of summer here in the States, and it’s about time I do a little summer cleaning. Help me reclaim my lost space! Photos are available upon request. Just send an e-mail to dancemaster(at)dancemania-ex(dot)com if you have any questions.

Important note! I’ll be away for most of August, so orders must come before July 30th at the latest, unless you’re willing to wait!

Update! (August 2, 2009) As mentioned, I’ll be on vacation the next few weeks. Feel free to e-mail me if you want me to put an item on hold for you, but I won’t be able to ship anything until late August.

Summer Sales!

Lots of great summer sales going on at various retailers. Don’t miss out on your chance to support your favorite music and save some dough in the process.

CDJapan: 2009 Summer Coupon Offer
Enter your e-mail address to receive a 500 yen coupon. Note that there’s a misprint in the description. It claims that the coupon is only valid for orders over 5,000 yen, but the minimum is really 3,000 yen. The e-mail address you enter must be linked to your CDJapan account.

I recommend using the coupon on Natsu Monogatari, or Wa Euro Best + Love House Extra. For Exit Trance fans, you can’t go wrong with the epic combination of Cinema Covers 2 + Speed Anime Trance Best 7.

HMV: All CD’s x10 points!
HMV Japan usually only offers 1 point for every 100 yen spent, or 1%. However, for a limited time they’re giving away 10 points for every 100 yen, which is an astounding 10% back. ALL CDs are eligible, but the campaign only lasts until July 1, so get orderin’!

HMV: 2 JP Edition CDs at 20% Off!
Not as good as their previous 3 CD’s at 23% off offer, but still a good deal, especially in combination with their x10 points offer. This time most albums released before December 2008 are included. A good time to complete your Exit Trance, Dancemania, or SEB collections.

Also keep an eye out for a shelf-clearing sale of my own coming soon. I’ll mostly be offering Dancemania albums, but I will have a few other trance and eurobeat albums for sale as well.

HMV Spring Campaign!

Just wanted to alert everyone to the fact that HMV Japan are having a massive Spring sale at the moment:

http://www.hmv.co.jp/news/article/904150080

23% off if you buy 3 qualifying CDs. The multi-buy discount generally applies to older titles. Pretty much everything released before and including October 2008 will be eligible. This is a great way to catch up on your collection and to support the dance/trance industry in Japan! For Exit Trance fans, this means that the price of an average album will only be ~1540 yen. For SEB fans, this means that older albums that used to cost upwards of 3000 yen are down to about 2300.
