Run for cover! The Apocalypse is coming! At least, that’s the only possible explanation for “Caramelldansen” not being included on this fifth release in the UmaUma Trance series. Truthfully, I’m a bit disappointed that there won’t be another remix of the song that refuses to die. After the insanity of the IOSYS feat. Beat Mario remix I was kind of looking forward to see how they could possibly top it.
As for the tracks that will be appearing, I don’t recognize any of them at first glance. I must be really behind on my music games, though, because I had no idea The Idolm@ster started off as a video game. ^^;
Trance Rave Best XVIII

Mostly Quake repeats. In fact, track 7 already appeared on TRB 17!
That said, Victor made good on their promise to include original tracks from Japanese DJs. We’ve got a new, original Delaction track as well a new track from Los Hermanos. The previously unknown DJ Kenny also makes his TRB debut.
Really good stuff. I hope we get to hear more from DJ Kenny in the future.

This caught my eye recently. Released by an independent label, it’ll feature primarily trancecore remixes of anime themes. Unsurprisingly, that means “Sousei no Aquarion.” What’s interesting are the scheduled artists, which include Redalice and DJ Sharpnel.

Oh, joy, UmaUma Trance Best! 30 tracks will be included, with new remixes, vocals, and remasterings keeping things fresh. Why do I get the feeling that this’ll end up having 30 different remixes of “Caramelldansen”?
The limited edition of the album comes with a special figure of “Miko Barusa.” Miko is apparently the name of the blue-haired character who was on the cover of the first three albums. Put the name in the traditional Japanese order and you get “barusamiko,” which I take it is a reference to a Nico Nico meme involving balsamic vinegar. Cute. The limited edition will be limited to only 20,000 copies.

The latest SATB sub-series, this time focusing on anime movie themes. You gotta hand it to Quake for not simply using repeats. Yes, there are a few songs from older volumes, but they appear to be newly remixed.
Mega Trance 10 Anniversary

5 years of Mega Trance! Disc 1 of this special collection compiles the latest trance tracks and remixes from the likes of DJ U*Hey?, Delaction, and DJ Tora. Meanwhile, Disc 2 contains almost every DJ U*Hey? song ever made for Mega Trance.
I’ll get the negative out of the way first: repeats. Specifically, Mega Trance 09 repeats. Tracks 6, 10 were just featured on MT 09 and have no business being here. It doesn’t help that I dislike the DJ Ten remix of “Scorpion” immensely. There are also a few repeats from other FARM compilations, which is a bit annoying, but at least they’re not too overused.
Luckily, it looks like there’s more than enough new stuff to make up for the repeats. A trance mix of Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” should be interesting, and a Delaction remix of “7 Years & 50 Days” is bound to be amazing. I’m also very much looking forward to DJ Tora’s new remix of “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”
Disc 2 is also shaping up quite nicely, with pretty much every original DJ U*Hey? track ever along with some of his remixes to boot. We even get a brand new 2009 remix of “Lost in Tokyo.”

Synchronized Love!! What an awesome random song for them to choose. Even better, they’ve chosen to cover my favorite Ouendan song, “Rirura Riruha.” Icon is usually pretty hit-or-miss for me, but I’m hoping for the best.
Again, it’s worth noting that they’ve changed the title from “CM Trance” to “CM Covers,” so these may not all be trance covers.
