Oh lord, not this again. Apparently Christmas ga 100-bai Tanoshiku Naru Party Mix is the start of a new series, with Anison and J-Pop releases to follow. Chances are these will just be the same repeats we’ve been subjected to with the Utattemita Anison/J-Pop/Speed releases. No word yet on whether the 100-bai series will be under the Dancemania umbrella, but since Saifam and AKBK have previous ties with Dancemania I’d be surprised if they aren’t included eventually.

It’s been a relatively quite second half of the year for Akiba Koubou, but they’ll be finishing 2012 off with what everyone’s been wanting from them: another anime compilation! It shares many of the same songs in common, but I guess that’s to be expected since AKBK can’t stop repeating “Sousei no Aquarion” -_-

What the fridge? Of all the series to resurrect they had to go with this one? Nothing against Handz Up, but I kind of assumed that Quake Trance Best 23 would fill that void. Like Quake Trance Best, the last (and only) release in the Handz Up Posse series came out in 2010. Now that I think about it Anime80s was another 2010 release that’s coming back in 2012. It’s as if everyone decided to skip 2011.

Wow, Saifam’s been prolific lately. October has barely started and they’ve already released 3 new Speed songs. The first is a cover of the Three 6 Mafia song, “It’s a Fight.” The second is a cover of the Tiffany song, “I Saw Him Standing There,” which itself was a cover of The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There.” Finally, their latest Speed creation is a cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s inescapable “Call Me Maybe.” It actually turned out really well. o_O

Recently announced on the Disko Warp twitter page, Disko Warp’s next album will feature covers of video game songs. Apparently it’ll feature covers of vocal songs only, so it’ll be interesting to see what songs make the final list. Guest artists include Ani-Rock!, J-Mi & Midi-D, Reni Mimura, Vandalet. It also sounds like there’ll be another Kickstarter for a physical release, so be on the lookout for that near the end of this month.
