Dance! Dance!! Dance!!! mixed by DJ Satoshi
Release Date: 9/4/13 (7/13/13 Tsutaya)
Price: 4950 yen
I’ve been begging for full versions from this album to be made available, mostly for Delaction’s new arrangement of “Butterfly” as well as Threemason’s covers of other Dancemania classics. The other day, Doc-S mentioned a site (http://www.japan-codes.com/) that sells prepaid cards in the comments. I was surprised to see that they also sold Recochoku prepaid cards, so I went to Recochoku to see if they had anything worth purchasing and was even more surprised to find that they had full versions from this album! The edit of “Butterfly” is 4:40, about 2 minutes longer than the edits that it’s been given on nonstop mixes.
The only downsides (or possibly upsides) are that you can only purchase the tracks individually, and the digital edition only has 33 out of 35 songs from the CD. If you buy all 33 tracks at 150 yen, it’s 4950 for the whole album. However, if you’re only interested in the new Delaction and Threemason productions, it’s 1950 yen for the 13 tracks.
Piromu Party Mix mixed by DJ Piromu
Release Date: 12/4/13
Price: 900 yen
Yet another digital compilation from Star Music Entertainment, which can only mean one thing: REPEATS. What differentiates this one, however, is that they reached back and grabbed some repeats from the epic trance glory days. That means classic J-Trance from DJ Kaya, DJ Tora, Oriental Space, and DJ U*Hey?
There are also the same Power Music tracks they’ve been repeating for the last year, plus recent covers by DJ U*Hey? and Delaction. This will be the longest edit that Delaction’s “Butterfly” has gotten yet. Just release the full version already. 🙁
V.I.P. Greatest R&B/Hip-Hop/Dance Trax

Exit Trance presents Speed Anime Trance Best 20
Release Date: 12/4/13
Price: 1905 yen
A final list has been revealed for the 20th release in the SATB series. Thankfully, Acid=Stone Valley’s return back in SATB 19 wasn’t just temporary, though he still only has one track. Airportexpress has been allocated the most, with five total tracks. Other artists include Hommarju (3 tracks), plazma (3), kinoto (2), Flash back Dominant (2), MK (2), Dizzi Mystica (1), and Icon (1). It also appears that there’ll be some new vocalists/aliases present, like Yuuji and Goneko.
Bonus items include a cell phone strap shaped like an ornament, a poster, and a special item (most likely a clear file) if you send in the included survey card. The official website has also been updated with samples.
For SATB fans, I’ve compiled a list of chart performances of each of the previous 19 titles. The data come from Oricon, which track physical sales data from most, but not all, of Japan’s retailers.
More after the break.

J-Pop Cover Best
Release Date: 1/15/14
Price: 2200 yen
A new J-Pop cover compilation from EMI. What’s interesting about this one is that it’ll feature western artists doing the covers. So far the only announced artist is Che’Nelle, which makes sense since she’s quite popular in Japan and already has a few J-Pop covers under her belt. I don’t know of many other foreign Universal/EMI artists who have done J-Pop covers, though, which makes me wonder if this could end up being another Saifam or Power Music showcase.
I Love Party Pop
Release Date: 11/27/13 ? 12/25/13
Price: 1900 yen
The second release in Universal’s I Love Party series. No track list yet, but it’ll most likely be mainstream top 40 hits. I’d expect Lady Gaga’s “Applause” plus stuff from Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and other Universal/EMI artists. I just hope they use more recent material this time instead of old, dated tracks.
Pre-order at CDJapan.
I Love Party -Welcome 2 da Dance Floor-
Release Date: 4/24/13
Price: 1886 yen
The first release in Universal’s I Love Party series, which focuses on dance pop songs. Waaay too mainstream for my tastes. It doesn’t help that a lot of the songs are already a few years old.
What’s Up! The Best ~ 10th Anniversary
Release Date: 12/4/13 12/25/13
Price: 2838 yen
Ah, now we know why V.I.P didn’t come out in December like it usually does. It seems that Universal have reserved the month for the 10th anniversary release of their own long-running R&B/Hip-Hop/Dance compilation series, What’s Up! No track list yet, but it’ll be a 2-disc set. Disc 1 will focus on dance, including the latest EDM hits. Disc 2 will feature R&B/Hip-Hop from the past decade. The set will come in a 2-disc wide case, as well as a cardboard sleeve.
Pre-order at CDJapan.
Dur-Moll Heaven
Artist: N.O.-SYO
Release Date: 11/27/12
Price: ??? yen
N.O.-SYO’s album is now up on Japanese iTunes, and will be available worldwide on November 30. You can listen to samples on Amazon MP3. Unfortunately, it does look like he’s dropped the “club/trance” aspect of his music for this album; the arrangements are pure rock.
On a side note, I contacted N.O.-SYO by e-mail a few months ago asking if he was willing to ship Sound Drive -Drift Luxy V.I.P.- worldwide, and he just recently got back to me and kind of misunderstood the question (my fault for using Google Translate, lol). He reiterated that Sound Drive -Dance Rock Mix- is finally available digitally worldwide, but made no mention of DLV.
Anison Mix Tape! mixed by DJ Makoto
Release Date: 11/27/13
Price: 2000 yen
New anime song compilation mixed by DJ Makoto. Final list is mostly the same is the preliminary one, except “Hohoemi no Bakudan” replaces “Namikaze Satellite.” No one seems to have any samples up, nor is the album available digitally, so it’s unclear what musical genresare represented. The description does mention “tension max,” which could point to something fast.
AsoBitCity presents Anime Hit Best mixed by DJ Aliy
Release Date: 10/26/13
Price: 1714 yen
A new AKBK-produced anison compilation that’s exclusive to AsoBitCity. I don’t believe there are any new productions on this.
