The long-delayed Speedisko Vol. 1 finally makes it debut. If I remember correctly there was supposed to be a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up,” but it looks like it didn’t make it.

Anyway, Speedisko Vol. 1 is supposed to be the first in a series of Disko Warp compilations. One of the highlights of this first volume is an excellent, new Cusimo & Co. Speedy mix of “Lolitabot.” I was lukewarm to the original speedy mix, but this remix is absolutely perfect. The incredible Ricardo Autobahn remix of “Sexy Vampire” also makes an appearance, albeit in radio edit form.

There’s supposed to be a collaboration with Magic Hammer, which I assume is track 2 since it’s the only eurobeat song on the album. I wish the vocals were a little clearer, but the synthwork is top notch. I’m also quite partial to “UFO Catcher,” a catchy new instrumental song by Initial P.

Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire -Remixes-

In hindsight it probably would’ve been more apropos had I posted this yesterday. In any case, Disko Warp Music have released a new digital single featuring new remixes of one of their biggest hits to date, “Oh Oh Oh Sexy Vampire.”

The highlight of the album is easily Ricardo Autobahn’s rocking trance remix. Coming in at a steady 140 BPM, the remix has great trance synths that suit the melody quite well. Ricardo is best known to Dancemania fans as a member of the duo, Rikki & Daz. I’ll let you figure out which one he was. 😛

The Chris Jay mix is the slowest one, coming in at 128 BPM. 80’s eurodance fans will love it, however, as it borrows heavily from the PWL sound.

Speed remixes are supplied by Cusimo & Co. and Initial P, while eurobeat fans wills be pleased with the Magic Hammer ’til Death mix (gotta love that disco break). Lastly, there’s an 8-bit chiptune remix from Kid Whatever.

Anime Nitro*Itaoto Mix! vol. 2

The follow-up release to Anime Nitro comes out this December. K-On! and Evangelion fans should be happy with the early list, as it includes two themes from each of those series. The rest of the list seems to be a good mix of older and more recent tracks.

No word on what artists will be involved, but I’d expect many of the contributors to the first Anime Nitro to show up again.

Anime House Project ~Oshare Selection~ Vol. 1

This is the fifth announced CD in the Anime House series (though it’ll actually be the third one released). This particular release will be produced by Somatrope. “Oshare” means “stylish” or “fashionable.” I haven’t a clue what that has to do with the anime themes announced so far. Interestingly, there are quite a few tracks with English lyrics, including “Genesis of Aquarion.”
