Quake News 8Quake Trance presents Quake News #08

“Funk” was already on Quake News 7 (albeit with a different remix), so it would’ve been better to have something completely new.

UmaUma Trance 6Exit Trance presents UmaUma Dekiru Trance o Tsukutte Mita 6 Doushite Kou Natta!
Release Date: 10/7/09
Price: 1905 yen

The sixth release in the UmaUma Trance series. It appears that they really have stopped the tradition of including a “Caramelldansen” remix on each release. Also conspicuously absent is Ryu*. N.O.-SYO, however, makes his UmaUma Trance debut with a trance cover of Pachelbel’s “Canon.” An odd choice, considering that there’s an existing cover by Freedom, and the song would’ve been better suited on a Trancemaster 04.

Samples can be found on Quake’s official site.

Kamikyoku wo Utatte MitaExit Tunes presents Kamikyoku wo Utatte Mita
Release Date: 10/7/09
Price: 1905 yen

Originally scheduled for 9/2, but delayed to 10/7. “Utatte Mita” refers to amateur singing (i.e., karaoke), and this release pairs up amateur vocalists with established Exit Trance artists. A few of these songs have already appeared on other releases, but will have new vocals. In some cases, that means we’ll be getting an actual singer for a change!

Samples are available at the official site.

Originally scheduled for release on August 26, this special CD commemorating the 10th anniversary of men’s egg magazine will finally be released on September 30. eggegg ~Get Wild & Be Sexy~
Release Date: 9/30/09

CD+DVD release from Avex. egg is a Japanese magazine focusing on overly tanned girls and their respective fashions. Mostly eurobeat, but some trance managed to sneak its way in. SpeedSpeed Revolution Vol. 2
Release Date: 8/5/09

Another Speed compilation from Saifam. This second volume includes all of their latest works, plus a few older tracks. It wouldn’t been much nicer if they just released their tracks in order.

Nothing new, but you can buy all of the songs at 192 kbps for about $8.54. If you bought these at Saifam’s website it would cost you approx. 14 bucks.

PandoraKitchy Kitchy (Single)
Artist: Pandora feat. Bloom 06
Release Date: September 2009
Price: ???

Swedish eurodance queen Pandora makes her grand return in 2009 backed up by the Italian duo, Bloom 06, who are actually two former members of Eifffel 65. The song has a slight electro touch, but the lyrics are undeniably eurodance. Pandora has also mentioned on her website that she’s working on a new album, which would be her first original album since 2003’s 9 Lives.

Also check out her live performance of “On a Night Like This,” which was first recorded and released by Pandora but made famous by Kylie Minogue’s cover. As a bonus, it starts off with “Come on and Do It,” which was featured on Dancemania 3.

Dream a Dream (AATW Remixes)
Artist: Captain Jack
Release Date: ???
Price: ???

As mentioned on the Eternal Music blog, UK-based label AATW will be doing new remixes of the Captain Jack classic, “Dream a Dream.” Former Dancemania artists, Friday Night Posse and Flip & Fill, are among the remixers. Below is the remix by FNP, using their Handz Up! alias:

I’m assuming there’s a promo floating around since Helios has already reviewed the tracks. He gave no indication of when the single will be released, however, or whether the remixes have anything to do with the upcoming remix album, “Rewind to the 90’s.”

Update: The promo CD is up on eBay. It’s still unknown when/if a retail single will be available

CJ

New details have surfaced about the upcoming album. In addition to remixes/remakes of CJ’s classics, there’ll also be new tracks, presumably also in the 90’s sound. Bruce Lacy has been doing quite a few live appearances recently, and many of those have been at 90’s throwback parties. There’s sort of a mini-renaissance of eurodance going on in Europe, mostly driven my nostalgia, and Udo Niebergall is ready to cash in. Besides, neither CJ Jr.’s album nor Captain Jack Is Back lit up the charts, so maybe a return to what made CJ so popular in the first place will be more successful.

Surprisingly, there seems to be yet another new female vocalist, Laura Pozo Martin. Check out her MySpace for a lovely cover of “Fields of Gold.”

New versions of “Give It Up,” “Volare,” and “Iko Iko” have been among the songs played during their live appearances, so it’s very likely they’ll be appearing on the new album.

Price: 2000 yen

The Japanese edition of Cascada’s third album comes out this October. There’ll be four bonus tracks, including new remixes by DJ Uto and DJ Yoshinori.

The Best of Cover Ne-Ho meets Miku
Artist: Ne-Ho meets Miku
Release Date: 10/21/09
Price: 1900 yen

Some of this year’s best-selling CDs in Japan have been Miku Hatsune albums, so it makes for FARM to jump on the bandwagon. I can’t find anything by Ne-Ho on Nico Nico, so who knows what this album will sound like. As one can infer from the title, expect lots of covers, including everyone’s favorites, “Sousei no Aquarion” and “Zankoku na Tenshi no These.” They should’ve just thrown “Ponyo” in there to complete the trifecta, though they do have a Ghibli song in “Kimi o Nosete.”

Buchiage Parance #10Buchiage Parance 10*Special (CD+DVD)
Release Date: 9/23/09
Price: 2848 yen

The good news is that they changed the title to something a little more intelligible. The bad news is that the track list is mostly licenses from Exit Trance and Super Anime Remix, along with some repeats from Speed Anime M@ster. There are no actual repeats from previous Buchiage releases or even Euro! Panic, yet the list still looks rather stale. It doesn’t even have a new Kei song 🙁

The DVD has a surprising number of tracks, though I don’t know how many of them are ParaPara routines.

Anime House Project ~Oshare Selection~ Vol. 1
Release Date: 10/28/09
Price: 2000 yen

This is the fifth announced CD in the Anime House series (though it’ll actually be the third one released). This particular release will be produced by Somatrope. “Oshare” means “stylish” or “fashionable.” I haven’t a clue what that has to do with the anime themes announced so far. Interestingly, there are quite a few tracks with English lyrics, including “Genesis of Aquarion.”
